COMMENT - "This was a series in the 70s on ABC TV." - Peter Criddle
UK/Australia, Film, 1997
A film about a computer literate talking dog in a battle for good against
evil. Stars Sandy Gore as the evil ex-wife stalking the dog to try and find
the whereabouts of the stolen money - looking suitably evil, but very wrinkled
and a bit too old for her part as glamorous villain. Caroline Gillmer is the
friend of the dog's murdered owner - played by Norman Kaye. Billy Connolly is
the voice of the dog, and the film goes downhill very soon after he starts to
talk!

A film version of Pirates of Penzance. This may have sounded like a great idea at the time - combining the old Gilbert and Sullivan numbers with some modern poppy ones, but believe me, in the end it's lousy. Some of the song and dance numbers are OK - the major general song and the policemen are good, but apart from that it's just a VERY strange mixture. Maggie K is plays the only woman on the Pirate ship who keeps throwing herself at the Pirate King - most amusing ;)

Toured Britain in the late 80s or early 90s. It was based upon the very
early years of Prisoner, and there were two versions with different casts. As
Glenda Linscott was in the country at the time she was given a role, but not that
of Rita Connors, as most people in the UK would not have recognised that character.
