Two Soap Stars and a Funeral

Neighbours star Jackie Woodburne will be taking time off from playing Susan Kennedy to star in a new Aussie film.

Jackie will play the lead in Tom's Funeral, a black comedy which documents the burial of a loveable rogue and the relationship he had with his family. Soap veteran Lorrae Desmond, most recently seen in Home and Away as Fisher's mum Isobel, will also play a key role.

The writer and producer of the project is so keen to have Jackie on board that he has postponed filming until September, which is the earliest writers can give the actress a break from Ramsay Street.
