Meetings are normally held on the fourth Thursday of September, November, January, March and May with a Christmas meeting early in December and the Annual General Meeting on the fourth Thursday in April. Speakers and topics are varied - with contributions from Society members as well as lecturers from Derbyshire and Sheffield.

The Society is always pleased to give conducted tours of the town and talks to other local history groups.
